Dr Almero Du Pisani

Dr Almero du Pisani joined PathCare at the beginning of November 2014.
Almero completed his under-graduate medical studies at the University of Pretoria in 2002. He completed his internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. Following his two year community service commitment at Witbank Hospital, Witbank he worked as a specialist registrar in the Accidents and Emergency Unit, NHS Kingston Hospital in London for a year.
On his return to South Africa, Almero studied further at University of Cape Town, obtaining his FC Path (SA) exam in 2009 as well as M.Med (University of Cape Town) with a dissertation in flow cytometry and molecular aspects of AML. He then joined the National Health Laboratory Service (Groote Schuur and Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital) as a consultant haematology pathologist and, until 2014, lecturer at University of Cape Town.
Almero’s special interests include flow cytometry and molecular aspects of acute myeloid leukaemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
