Dr Delene Brink completed her undergraduate medical studies at the University of Pretoria in 1999.
She did her internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town and community service at Mokopane
Hospital, Limpopo. After community service, she worked as a locum medical officer in the Accidents and Emergency Units and Internal Medicine departments of various NHS Hospital in England for a year.
On her return to South Africa, Delene studied Medical Microbiology at the University of Pretoria and
obtained her M.Med (Path) in 2006. She also obtained a Diploma in Tropical Medicine from WITS
University in 2005.
Delene’s special interests include tropical diseases and antibiotic resistance.
