Dr Dewald van der Walt

Dewald originally hails from Dundee in Kwa-Zulu Natal and obtained his medical degree from the University of the Free State (UFS) in 2003.

He spent time as a medical officer in Anaesthetics in Newcastle followed by a 3 year period in Emergency Medicine in the rural Australian Outback.  He returned to the UFS to obtain his post-graduate MMed degree in Anatomical Pathology in 2014 and has been practicing as a histopathologist ever since.

Although he regards himself as an “all-rounder” in general surgical and medical pathology, he has a keen interest in nephropathology.
