Howard Newman joined PathCare in October 2020.  Originally from Cape Town, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Kwazulu-Natal, followed by specialist training at Stellenbosch University.  He served as a pathologist for the National Health Laboratory Service in Port Elizabeth for 6 years, being the only clinical virologist in the Eastern Cape province.  In addition, he is currently affiliated to Stellenbosch University and Nelson Mandela University.

As a clinical virologist, Howard has a strong passion for general diagnostic virology, with a special interest in quality assurance and molecular diagnostics.

He will be based in Cape Town and will predominantly assist clinicians from the Southern Suburbs.
