Dr Izak Loftus

Izak is a graduate from the University of Stellenbosch where he obtained the degrees (Applied ethicsMBChB, MMed(Forens Path), FForPath(SA),  MMed(Anat Path) and MPhil ). He has practised as a Forensic Pathologist and Histopathologist since 1994. Although he practises the whole scope of histopathology, he also has a special interest in biomedical ethics. He often acts as expert witness in medico-legal matters.

He is a senior partner based in Somerset West and a past chairman of PathCare. Izak is the Chief Operational Officer for the Boland, Overberg, Namakwaland and Upington pathology operations. He is the National Coordinator for the histopathology division of PathCare. He is also a former extra-ordinary professor in Forensic Medicine in the College of Law, Unisa, and accredited lecturer in the Department of Forensic Medicine at the University of Stellenbosch.
