Dr Lucretia (Kiesha) Mekoa joined PathCare in March 2022. She completed her MBCHB degree at the University of Cape Town 2013 (with distinction) and went on to do her internship and community service in the Free State. She obtained a diploma in Anesthesia during her community service year. In 2017, she joined the department of Anatomical Pathology at the University of the Witswatersrand and obtained her FC PATH and Mmed degree (Cum laude) in July 2021. She briefly worked at the NHLS where she formed part of the transplant pathology team. During this time, she received mentorship in the field of medical liver pathology, including transplant cases as well as gastrointestinal pathology. She was also involved in the training of registrars.

Dr Mekoa has a special interest in soft tissue pathology, paediatric pathology, dermatopathology, neuropathology and medical liver pathology.
