Dr Melonie Johnson

Dr Melonie Johnson joined PathCare in May 2002.
Born and schooled in Port Elizabeth, Melonie obtained the degree MBCbB at the (then) University of Natal in 1990. She returned to Port Elizabeth to complete her internship as well an extra year as a medical officer in the department of Internal Medicine. The next few years were spent doing locum work abroad in Canada and England, and locally. She also worked in the public sector as a medical officer in the day hospitals and Mowbray Maternity Hospital.
In 1996, Melonie joined the Pathology department of the University of Cape Town. The intention was to specialise in Chemical Pathology but she changed course to Haematology, completing the FCPath examination in 2001. She then spent a few months in a bone marrow transplant unit in Edinburg before returning to South Africa.
Melonie enjoy all the different aspects of haematology.
