Nonkululeko is a recently qualified Clinical Microbiologist working at the PathCare Vermaak practice since completing her training at the University of the Witwatersrand. She also holds a postgraduate Diploma in HIV Management; and completed her undergraduate training at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in 2015.

She is passionate about the management of infectious diseases, having developed an interest in Tuberculosis and Cryptococcal infection during her time as a medical officer in Internal Medicine. She now has a special interest in the implementation of optimal diagnostics to expedite identification and treatment of community and hospital acquired infections, refining laboratory processes to reduce unrationalised practices, and collaborating with other health care providers to select the best treatment option available. She is enthusiastic about teaching Microbiology and continues to lecture and mentor postgraduate students at WITS. She is also a member of a podcast team that aims to educate a variety of listeners on infectious disease.
