Dr Qanita Sedick is a distinguished haematopathologist with over a decade of experience in the field, specialising in areas such as routine haematology, coagulation, haemoglobinopathy, morphology and cytology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology in haematology. She will be serving key areas in the North West region including Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom and surrounding areas.

She has her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town, followed by a Fellowship in Haematopathology (FCPATH) and a Masters of Medicine in Haematology from the University of Witwatersrand.

Dr Sedick has extensive international experience in haematology where she worked as a Specialist Haematopathologist at the  Prince Sultan Military Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for several years, managing a comprehensive array of haematological services, critical diagnostic and therapeutic processes and also played an integral part in advancing clinical trials and research initiatives.

Dr Sedick is also an accomplished researcher and author, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from bone marrow failure syndromes to the impact of COVID-19 on children with haematological malignancies and digital pathology.

With a keen interest in advancing digital pathology, Dr Sedick aims to implement innovative diagnostic strategies that bridge traditional methods with modern technology, enhancing patient care and diagnostic accuracy in haematology. Her vision is to play a pivotal role in the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in diagnostic processes, ensuring the future of haematopathology ethically aligns with evolving medical standards.
