Dr Shumani Malaka

After matriculation Shumani Malaka studied a BSc in medical sciences at the University of the North which he completed in 1997. He went on to study medicine at the University of Free State which he completed in 2002. He did his internship and compulsory medical officer years in Tshilidzini and Louis Trichardt hospitals respectively.  He trained as an Anatomical Pathologist at the University of Cape Town and became a fellow of the Colleges, FCPath(Anat), in 2010. He was appointed as a Pathologist at the University of Cape Town where he spent almost 3 years practising as a general pathologist  training registrars and undergraduate medical studies. He joined Pathcare in 2014. Although he is a keen general pathologist his main interests include renal, female genital tract, and gastrointestinal pathology.
