Liza attained both BVSc and MMedVet (Pathology) degrees at the University of Pretoria. She spent a few years in mixed animal practice after qualifying as a veterinarian, and a year in bacterial vaccine development for production animals and diagnostic bacteriology.  Liza started her career in diagnostic anatomical pathology at the Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute in 1997, and therafter worked in a private diagnostic pathology laboratory in Pretoria until joining Pathcare in February 2023.
She is an Anatomical pathologist with a special interest in wildlife and exotic animal pathology, production animal diseases and dermatopathology.
