Dr Vergottini was born in Bloemfontein, grew up and attended school in Durbanville, and thereafter attended the Stellenbosch University where he completed the MB, ChB program. He completed his internship at Boitumelo Hospital in Kroonstad and worked at Kimberley Hospital in surgery, anaesthesiology and psychiatry as medical officer afterwards. He completed the MMed Anatomical pathology program at Kovsies and obtained the PC Path (SA) in 2017. After a short period as consultant at the NHLS in Bloemfontein he joined PathCare in 2018.
