Prof Jackie Goedhals

Jackie studied medicine at the University of the Free State. She then joined the registrar training program at the UFS and obtained her MMed in 2004 and PhD in 2020. After specializing, she joined the Department of Anatomical Pathology at the University of the Free State and National Health Laboratory Service as a histopathologist and took over as head of department in January 2014. Her interests include paediatric pathology and gestational trophoblastic disease and she has completed the International Paediatric Pathology Association’s advanced course in paediatric pathology. She has also completed an MSc Med Sci in cytopathology through the University of Stellenbosch. She joined PathCare in November 2021 and is an affiliated Professor with the University of the Free State where she remains involved in academic activities and registrar training.
