Similar to December 2023, SARS-CoV-2 detection rates were in the range of 10-12%.
Percentage positivity for the other respiratory viruses remained below 10% throughout the month. In particular, RSV detection rates were ≤2% and showed no increase indicative of the onset of RSV season as yet. In 2023, RSV season started in week 6 (week starting 6 February) and continued until week 21 (week starting 22 May) according to NICD surveillance programmes.
