Influenza, respiratory syncytial virus and SARS-CoV-2
- Influenza A detection rates peaked in week 21 (week ending 28 May) and then decreased each week throughout June, with the percentage positivity dropping to 12% in the last week of June. Influenza A/H3 continued to predominate across all provinces, with >99% of isolates for which molecular typing was available typing as influenza A/H3 during this
reporting period. - No increase in influenza B positivity was noted during June.
- RSV percentage positivity continued in the 5-7% range overall, with the highest detection rates in infants <1 year of age (22-26%), followed by children aged 1-5 years (7-10%).
